FAFCO finishes biggest domestic contract (Saturday, October 19, 2002)
Local manufacturer FAFCO is celebrating one of its largest and most prestigious contracts, preparing to air condition a world-famous Chicago museum. The 48th unit of the $700,000 contract was completed this week, and is being stored with its sister units in a sideyard of FAFCO's Otterson Drive plant. Custom built, each unit weighs about 6,000 pounds, and measures 8 feet wide, 10 feet deep and nearly 11.5 feet high.
